Ulla Pirttijärvi & Ulda create musical dialogues between the traditional Sámi culture and the modern day. The ensemble’s instrumentation leaves space for the rich colour palette of yoik singing, complementing its distinct tonal world. The group’s debut album Ulda was nominated for the 2012 Etno-Emma Award. Currently working on their third album, the group has been touring widely since 2009, including through Europe and the US.
