Representing top Finnish folk music fiddling, Duo Emilia Lajunen & Suvi Oskala’s bicycle tour offers exciting musical pit stops in Helsinki’s Night of the Arts. The duo performs Finnish folk music on two five-string violins, featuring an earthy sound, with thoroughly contemporary arrangements. Their virtuosic music could be also described as “folk chamber music”. The duo sounds bigger than the number of its players, can fit into a small space, and has plenty of danceable tunes on offer.
