Four musicians, twelve instruments, eight languages. These are the ingredients in the music of the brand-new ensemble Bergå Folk Project, formed by a group of folk music professionals. The ensemble recreates Luciano Berio’s folk music arrangements and compositions, well known in the classical music circles, by fitting them into a folk music ensemble format. This process also takes the original folk songs, which inspired Berio back in the day, and returns them to their roots through the ensemble’s new, innovative arrangements. Bergå Folk Project’s international repertoire consists of folk songs originating from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Italy, United States, and France.
