Teija Niku is an accordion artist who specialises in folk music from the Nordic countries and the Balkans. Niku has been described as a composer with a fantastic sense of melody and an innovative arranger, whose song-like and unpretentious playing style rises above a mere technical performance. Niku’s third solo album attracted considerable international attention in November 2019 when it rose to the World Music Charts Europe, curated by music journalists of the European Broadcasting Union.
