Powerful singing and dancing, skilful solos, polyrhythmic bamboo flute performances and shared fun? Yes, please!
This is what you can expect when two multi-instrumentalists and a Finnish breakdance champion join forces. INDABA is a fast-paced and captivating show that gently explores questions of identity together with the audience: how does it feel to be Finnish or African – or both? How do you fit many identities into one person?
The performance draws on Tanzanian traditions, hip hop culture and the performers’ imagination. The concert will be spoken and sung in Finnish, English, Swahili and Sumbwa.
In Zulu, INDABA means a gathering where the right people come together at the right time to make decisions on matters that concern them. Let’s have an indaba!
