The winner of Etno-Espa’s “Folk Song 2050” competition, Taui (Aleksi Taipale), recently released an album, Ennusmerkit. In his music, he weaves together elements from folk music, club aesthetics and hyperpop.

This characteristic combination provides a frame for reflection on themes such as body image and need for help. This music of the extremes swings between noise walls and sparkling choruses. Played live, these chopped folk dance rhythms gain yet another degree of depth.
