Etno-Espa festival is one of the rare events that has managed to keep going even throughout the difficult pandemic years, providing employment to musicians and enjoyment to audiences. In August 2022, the Espa Stage will be once again filled with a magnificent festival program. The two supergroups Värttinä and Tallari are true folk music industry leaders, whereas Ramy Essam, a revolutionary voice and human rights defender from Egypt, is still lesser known in Finland despite reaching tens of millions of listeners worldwide through his music. From the Sápmi region in the north, we welcome the group Gabba with their tundra blues tunes, and Ulla Pirttijärvi & Ulda with their dialogues between Sámi cultural traditions and the modern day. And that’s not all – the ten festival days will offer so much more. Music to make you move, cause your jaw to drop, stop you in your tracks, drive you wild! You are warmly welcome to experience it all!
